The Ashoka-Team

Birgit Moukom: Ashoka’s founder, Birgit Moukom, was trained in the well-known European Ayurveda Academy Birstein, where she was a student of the Ayurveda experts Rhyner and Rosenberg. She gained her knowledge of Ayurvedic medicine while studying Ayurveda with Indian doctors Dr. Jeevan and Dr. Gupta. During her training, she was able to learn how to combine authentic Ayurveda with western quality standards. You can apply this approach in the Ashoka locations. She also studied kinesiology at Mathias Weber’s institute in Oldenburg and is a certified psychological coach IFK.

Since October 2007 she has been the independent operator of the Ashoka Spa in the Galo Resort Hotel in Madeira. In January 2011 she founded the holistic Ashoka Ayurveda treatement center in the Hotel Alpino Atlantico.

The Ashoka Team for Ayurvedic Medicine: Our team consists of experienced and qualified Ayurveda, osteopathy, TCM as well as yoga and qigong experts, receptionists and other assistants. A high quality standard is guaranteed through continuous training. The team is led by our experienced Ayurveda doctors.

In our medical team, we rely on a combination of experience and innovation from India and Europe. Our doctors, which are trained in Ayurveda medicine, can therefore specifically address the challenges in the European context and provide you with holistic care.
